We are looking for motivated individuals who have a systematic approach to work and an outgoing personality is equally as vital. You are part of the teamer team… the heart and soul of all our retreats. You create that amazing atmosphere, you ensure that the retreat looks nice and tidy at all times, you are the go-to person for the questions from our guests, you socialise with the guests, and you bring a smile to all activities, breakfast, dinners and all situations.

If you’re looking for a surf camp where you can surf heaps and party your nights away... we’re definitely not for you. If you want to practice yoga daily, connect with people and you’re looking to be part of a great team... then your gonna fit right in here.

Work at The Salty Pelican, is a great opportunity to work and live in a friendly atmosphere where you can meet people from all over the world. In exchange for work in a variety of tasks - ranging from front desk duties, organising daily activities, to supporting our guided meditation hikes - you'll receive accommodation, daily breakfast and group dinners when available. You will also have the chance to join our yoga and meditation programs, nature hikes or tours when you are not scheduled to work. 

 

The Salty Pelican prefers to accept participants who are students or long-term travellers who are equally interested in exploring a new place as well as contributing to The Salty Pelican vibe by supporting our awesome team. We expect you to take your work seriously but at the same time become apart of our small Salty Pelican family. 

 

To join our team as a teamer...  preference will be given to people who can stay at  least  the   3  month commitment required....

                                                  

Nuts & Bolts  Applicants take on general staff duties that contribute to the efficient day-to-day operations, add to the overall vibe of our retreat and to be an amazing engaging host. 

 

Work  Each week you'll work in the areas of front desk and general duties including helping to organize groups into their daily activities and group dinner evenings. No cleaning shifts are required ;-) Just general upkeep of our properties. 

 

Play    In addition, because employees spend so much time on-site, they are often available to participate in retreat outings like evening dinners in our garden or joining our meditation hike or other activities and tours where available. These activities are the best time to meet other travellers and explore the surrounding nature. We are located just a few minutes walk from the beautiful swimming & surfing beaches. We are not a typical surf camp where our staff can join the surf classes everyday, as the surf vans and lessons are usually reserved for Guests-Only. But we have daily yoga & meditation classes scheduled twice daily most days which you are free to join whenever you are not scheduled to work.  At some of our retreats there are surfboards available for personal use in your own time where available at the management's discretion.

Livin    We provide accommodation in a private shared staff room, usually shared with staff members of the same gender, and free daily breakfast buffet. You can also use the retreats facilities to cook your own meals, as we have a fully equipped staff kitchens at all our properties. 

 

Who Should Apply  At The Salty Pelican we employ energetic and motivated people who want to be part of our small Salty Pelican family. Diversity is encouraged... Students of hospitality and people with interests in international travel, hotel management and marketing are encouraged to apply.

 

Length of Stay  A minimum stay of 3 months is preferred. Stellar participants will be gladly accepted for stays longer than 3 months.
